What is Proof of Address?

Proof of Address (PoA) is a document used in the KYC process to verify a customer's residency. It is often required alongside a government-issued ID to provide a complete picture of an individual's identity and to meet regional regulatory requirements.

Commonly accepted documents for PoA include utility bills (electricity, water, gas), bank statements, and government correspondence issued within the last 3-6 months. These documents must clearly show the user's full name and address.

Digital PoA verification uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to extract and validate address data from uploaded documents. This speeds up the onboarding process while ensuring the documents are authentic and haven't been tampered with.
